In contrast to gold or silver, some rare precious metals such as osmium are not traded on the stock exchange or spot markets. The price of osmium is therefore set by the precious metal dealers and stores and depends on the quality of the production process, certifications and other factors. Interested precious metal investors and customers should therefore only compare equivalently produced osmium in this area, as bars or crystals, and not confuse it with osmium in unprocessed form such as osmium powder or osmium pearls, for example. The same applies to other precious metals such as platinum, iridium or rhodium.
Can I also buy osmium fused beads or osmium powder (osmium sponge) in your store?
In our store, we only sell osmium (Element Os, OS76) in a safe and interesting form for investors. Osmium melting beads and osmium in raw form as osmium powder or osmium sponge are not included in most cases. Osmium in this unprocessed powder form can form the toxic osmium tetroxide (OsO4) due to surface oxidation in combination with oxygen.
We guarantee the health safety of osmium in either pressed ingots or osmium crystals through our manufacturing and processing procedures. Osmium powder and osmium fused beads are available at very low prices in many osmium online shops, but are therefore in a completely different category in terms of quality.

In many EU countries, there is a registration obligation when buying gold and precious metals - both online and offline. The form of the precious metals is irrelevant and includes the purchase of gold bars, gold coins, ducats, bars in blister packs, gift bars, motif bars, square castings, kinebars or coffin bars, for example. Gold is representative of all other precious metals here. However, the same also applies to platinum, silver, ruthenium, palladium, rhodium, osmium and iridium.
Depending on the country, there may be different legal regulations for the purchase of precious metals. In Austria and Germany, for example, there are certain limits above which registration or proof of origin is required.
